Fọlárìn tells the child what to do with his life: walk with honour. The verb rìn is literal walking, the everyday word for moving down a road, and ọlá is what he is to carry while doing it. Translating ọlá is the hard part. It covers honour, dignity, standing and material prosperity simultaneously, because Yoruba thought does not sort those into separate boxes the way English does; "honour" is the usual rendering and it undersells the money side of the word.
