원 may be the most character-crowded syllable in the whole Korean name stock. 元 is the first or original — the head of a thing, the character in the word for a chief or director. 源 is the spring a river rises from. 願 is a wish, the sort you make deliberately. 遠 is far, 圓 is round or complete, 苑 is a garden. Each is a different name wearing the same two letters, which is why a Korean who wants to be precise about his own name will write out the characters rather than say them.
The first syllable is similarly plural: 柱 a pillar, 珠 a pearl, 宙 the vault of space, 周 a full circuit. Put any of them in front of any of the above and the result is still pronounced Juwon.
