Micah is a question with an obvious answer. Mi-kha-Yah, "who is like Yahweh?", is not asking for nominations; it is the ancient equivalent of a rhetorical flourish, and it was common enough to be worn down from Mikhayahu to plain Mikhah. Michael is the same sentence with the generic word for God at the end instead of the divine name — which makes Micah and Michael, at #21 today and the number one American boy name every year from 1954 to 1998, siblings rather than cousins.
The prophet Micah came from Moresheth, a small town in the Judean foothills, and prophesied in the same decades as Isaiah.
